You can easily remove unwanted pixels from an image in Microsoft Word using the built-in cropping tool. Additionally, you can crop an image into a specific shape. Here’s how to crop a picture in Word.
How to Crop a Picture in Word
To crop a picture, open your Word document, insert an image (Insert > Pictures), and select the photo by clicking on it. Then, go to the Picture Format tab, which appears once the image is selected. In the Size group, click Crop. A drop-down menu will appear; click Crop again. Cropping handles will appear around the image. Drag these handles to select the area you want to keep. After adjusting the frame, click the icon in the upper half of the Crop option in the Picture Format tab to remove the unwanted areas.
How to Crop a Picture as a Shape in Word
To crop an image into a specific shape, insert and select the image as before. In the Picture Format tab, click the Crop button in the Size group. From the drop-down menu, choose Crop To Shape, and a library of shapes will appear. Select the shape you’d like to use. For example, selecting the teardrop shape will automatically crop the image into that form.
