About Monster Hunter Rise

You are a hunter. You track monsters across large maps, fight them, and turn what you collect from them into new weapons and armor. The monsters include returning classics and new creatures inspired by Japanese folklore, with the wyvern Magnamalo as the flagship. Each has its own habits, so you need to learn how it behaves.

There are 14 weapon types, from the heavy Great Sword and the elegant Long Sword to Dual Blades, the Lance, the Bow and Bowguns. You can change weapons at any Equipment Box, so you can try different styles. The story takes place in Kamura Village, a peaceful place whose villagers fear a disaster called the Rampage.

You can hunt alone or with others. In the Hunter Hub, multiplayer quests let up to four players team up. Difficulty scales with the size of your group, whether you go solo or join a full squad of four.

The PC version supports resolutions up to 4K, HDR, ultrawide monitors and an unlocked frame rate. Steam also lists free title updates that add monsters, quests and gear.
