About ICARUS

The setting is Icarus, an Earth-like planet that was terraformed and is now seen as humanity’s greatest mistake. Prospectors leave their orbital station and drop to the surface, where they explore, harvest, craft and hunt in search of a fortune. The planet fights back with toxic air, savage wildlife, storms and forest fires, so planning matters.

You can tame animals too. Native creatures and animals brought down from Earth can become mounts or companions, you can breed them to pass on useful traits, and farms keep your operation supplied. Three tech trees cover planetary technology, your talents and the orbital workshop, and over 100 talents let you specialize in exploring, building, farming, hunting, taming or fighting.

ICARUS offers three game modes: a persistent Open World, limited-time Missions and creative Outposts. The story quests are the same in both ways of playing them: in Open World they are called Operations, and in Missions they play out in episodes.

Solo play, or co-op for up to eight players
Dedicated servers, free to run and recommended for Open World sessions
Four tiers of technology, from hand-crafted tools to advanced composites and electronics
