About Contraband Police

The year is 1981. You are a young officer trainee posted to a border post in the mountains of Karikatka, on the edge of the Acarist People’s Republic. Entry is tightly controlled by the party, your every move is watched, and the situation turns serious when a comrade is killed during an intervention.

Most of the job is inspection. Every visitor needs valid documents, and even a small mismatch means refused entry. The number of documents grows over time, so mistakes get harder to spot. Intelligence tips you off about suspicious drivers, and you search their vehicles with a UV flashlight and the right tools to find smuggled goods.

Not every job is paperwork. Some situations end in shootouts, and your post is a constant target for a gang. When smugglers run, you chase them in a police car that you can buy and upgrade. Between shifts you improve your station to strengthen its defenses and make later inspections better, while keeping an eye on rising costs. Special assignments add crime puzzles and fights against the Blood Fist rebels.
