Making Letters Curve in Microsoft Word
Curving text in Word allows you to add a dynamic and creative effect to your documents. Whether you’re looking to emphasize a heading or match text with an object or logo, follow these steps to curve your text:
Step 1: Insert WordArt
- Go to the Insert tab on the Word ribbon.
- In the Text section, click WordArt.
- Choose a style for your WordArt (from plain text to more decorative options).
- Type your text in the WordArt box that appears.
Step 2: Format the Text
- With your WordArt selected, go to the Format tab on the ribbon.
- Click on Text Effects in the WordArt Styles group.
Step 3: Apply the Curve
- From the Text Effects drop-down menu, select Transform.
- In the Follow Path section, choose the curved path you want (e.g., arching up, down, or in a circular shape).
- Your text will immediately follow the path you selected.
Step 4: Adjust the Curve
- Adjust the Curve: To tweak the curve, click on the orange dot that appears along the curve of your text. Drag the dot to adjust the degree of the curve or flip the text upside down.
- Experiment with the positioning of the dot until the text matches your desired effect.
Step 5: Reset the Text (Optional)
- If you want to remove the curve and return to straight text, go back to the Text Effects menu and select No Transform.
By following these steps, you can easily curve text in Word to add flair to your document and make the text flow around other elements or objects.
