About Sea of Stars

You follow two Children of the Solstice, who join the powers of sun and moon in Eclipse Magic to fight the creations of an evil alchemist, the Fleshmancer. The game takes the classic RPG and updates its combat, story, exploration and the way you interact with the world, while keeping a good dose of nostalgia.

Combat is turn-based. If you press the action button in time with the animations, you deal more damage and take less. Characters can chain combo attacks, and a locks system lets you break up the spells and attacks that enemies are charging, using the right damage types. There are no random encounters, no separate battle screens and no grinding.

You swim, climb, vault, jump down from ledges and pull yourself up onto them. Movement is not tied to a grid, so the world feels more like a platformer.

The pixel-art world is drawn with a custom render pipeline that pushes the limits of 2D pixel art.

Dozens of original characters and story arcs carry the adventure. It mixes funny scenes, emotional ones and plenty of surprises, around the themes of adventure and friendship.

Between quests you can go sailing, cook, fish, listen to a song in a tavern or play the tabletop game Wheels. Local co-op supports up to three players.

How to activate

Steam (PC)

1. Install Steam and sign in to your Steam account.
2. Select Games → Activate a Product on Steam in the top menu.
3. Enter the key from your order email. The game is added to your library, ready to download.

Nintendo Switch

1. Open the Nintendo eShop on your Switch and select your account.
2. Select Redeem Code on the left.
3. Enter the 16-character code from your order email. The game starts downloading.

Yes, locally. Steam lists shared and split-screen co-op for up to three players.
