SCUM is an open-world survival game developed and published by Gamepires. Steam lists its release date as 17 June 2025 and an Early Access launch in August 2018. Your key activates the game on Steam.

About SCUM

Prisoners are dropped onto a large, hostile island and have to survive by any means. SCUM frames survival as a show, and your actions change how the world sees you through a reputation system.

The map covers 225 square kilometers and is inspired by Croatia: Adriatic coastline, forests and freezing mountain sides. High-security military zones and hidden corners hold something worth claiming, or something worth fearing.

Survival rests on connected systems. You customize your character in detail, and your health, skills, metabolism and fatigue all follow from a progression system that decides how long you last.

The island is not empty. Re-animated former contestants called Puppets roam it, mutated experiments hide in the dark, and every other player is trying to last longer than you.

You scavenge, loot, craft and hunt for what you need, and you can build a base. Crafting and looting are deep systems, and character skills grow as you play.

You can team up or go it alone. Steam lists both PvP and PvE and notes there is no fixed progression path, so what you do with the systems is up to you.

How to activate

1. Install Steam and sign in to your Steam account.
2. Select Games → Activate a Product on Steam in the top menu.
