About Barotrauma

In the not-so-distant future, humanity has fled to Europa, a moon of Jupiter. Its surface is icy and irradiated, so living things exist only in the ocean beneath. You crew a submarine that travels through the dark water, completes missions for the last remnants of humankind and meets four factions, alien ruins and sea monsters.

Every player takes a role on board: Captain, Engineer, Mechanic, Medic, Security officer or Assistant. You steer the submarine, handle the sonar, the reactor, the guns, the engines and the pumps, fix leaks, craft equipment and medicine, and fight or flee from monsters. Good communication keeps the crew alive.

Up to 16 players fit on one submarine, and bots can fill empty seats in single-player and multiplayer. Sometimes the danger is on board, because a traitor can try to sink the crew. Built-in editors let you create your own submarines, characters and monsters, and the Steam Workshop offers mods.
