Creating a Striped Table in Word

In Excel: Adding Shaded Bands
- Create or Select Your Table
- Highlight the data range you want to format as a table.
- Go to the Insert tab and select Table (or press Ctrl+T).
- In the “Create Table” dialog box, ensure the range is correct and check “My table has headers” if applicable. Click OK.
- Apply Banding
- Once the table is created, Excel automatically applies banding with a default table style.
- To customize the banding:
- Go to the Table Design tab (appears when the table is selected).
- Check the Banded Rows box under Table Style Options.
- Click on the Table Styles dropdown to choose a predefined style with the desired colors.
- Customize Row Colors (Optional)
- For custom colors, click New Table Style in the Table Styles dropdown.
