  3. Select Pictures, then choose either This Device or Online Pictures to select the image you want to use.
  4. Once inserted, the image will appear in your document.

Step 2: Apply Blur Effect to the Image

To add a blur effect to an image in Word:

  1. Select the Image: Click on the image to select it.
  2. Format the Image: Go to the Picture Format tab on the ribbon.
  3. Choose Artistic Effects: In the Adjust group, click on Artistic Effects.
  4. Select Blur: From the drop-down menu, choose the Blur effect. This will apply a soft focus to the entire image.

If you want more control over the intensity of the blur, you can select other effects in the Artistic Effects menu, or adjust the image manually using external editing software before inserting it into Word.

Step 3: Add Transparency to the Image

To add transparency to an image:

  1. Select the Image: Click on the image you want to adjust.
  2. Open Format Options: Right-click on the image and select Format Picture.
  3. Adjust Transparency: In the Format Picture pane, click on Fill & Line (paint bucket icon).
  4. Under the Fill section, adjust the Transparency slider to your desired level (from 0% for opaque to 100% for fully transparent).

This allows the background to show through the image, which is perfect for creating watermarks or layered designs.

Step 4: Combine Blur and Transparency Effects

For more dynamic results, you can combine both blur and transparency effects. Here’s how:

  1. Apply the Blur Effect: Follow the steps above to apply the blur.
  2. Add Transparency: After blurring the image, right-click and select Format Picture to adjust the transparency as well.
  3. Refine the Image: Make any further adjustments to suit the style and theme of your document.
